Where’d everybody go?

A single slip and fall can send you hurtling off trail, separating you from your friends and getting you lost and disoriented. Learning what to do and how to navigate in the wild can help prevent this major start to a survival situation. Our map and navigation course was created and designed by a former Cavalry Scout in the United States Army. By sharing his years of wilderness navigational experience, he has given us the skills necessary to help you keep yourselves from getting lost as well as the ability to find your way if you are lost.

What to bring:

  1. Clothes that are appropriate for the weather and the outdoors, including close-toed shoes and long pants.

  2. Lunch (Water, Gatorade, and snacks will be provided)

  3. Water bottle

*NOTE: We will provide you with a loaner compass and map or you may bring your own. Feel free to browse our list of gear recommendations to help you choose a compass for yourself.

My biggest concern about going hiking or really anywhere in nature was getting lost. After this course I feel a lot more confident.
